Last one I'm going to submit for 's contest because this is like what, the fourth? Sixth? Twenty-ninth? Whatever. If I get around to putting the rest of my ideas for it on paper, I'll just have them up here as regular ol' Turds from My Head instead of entries.
So, again, inspired by the phrase 'The Long Walk', and an Irish folk song (which Dropkick Murphy's did a fantastic version of, by the way) called 'The Rocky Road to Dublin', the chorus of which goes like this:
One two three four five
Hunt the hare and turn her
Down the rocky road
And all the way to Dublin
Whack fol la de ra
Hence...the guy chasing the rabbit. Down a..road...that could be rockier...but whatever. I'm not sure why 'The Long Walk' reminded me of this except that...you know...roads and walking and...going to Dublin on foot, you know, it's a long way to walk.
I really like the perspective here - you did a really nice job with the angle of the rabbit. The colors, too...you mixed in some blues with the browns which makes the rabbit look more colorful and with depth than plain old brown.
And definitely...if that hare was here in Galway, it WOULD be a long walk to Dublin...from west coast to east
Lol well the song is inconclusive about the hare...all it ever says is to hunt her and turn her down the road. It does, however, mention that when the main character eventually gets to Liverpool, a bunch of English guys start making fun of him and Ireland, so he gets out his shillelagh stick and starts beating the snot of them, and a bunch of guys from Galway join in and they WIN. And it tickles me.
Which has nothing to do with the hare but I think it's fun.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
